Cleanse

About five weeks ago Chris came to me stating that he wanted to do a six week cleanse. I am always up for a challenge, especially when it comes to self-control so I said lets go for it. The cleanse eliminated all sugar (except fruit), all processed food, gluten, dairy, and all meat except chicken and fish. Some days were a bit interesting trying to figure out what to cook but we actually had a overall good experiences with the cleanse. I love bread and sugar so that was a bit hard to give up, but if I have a goal I can stick to it. We had many temptations along the way but we prevailed! We only have 5 days left. Cakes, cookies and bread still look yummy, I am not going to lie, but we both feel like we overcame many of those cravings. However, we are excited as well to be DONE! I can't wait to make mannicoti again.

Boise!

A large part of me will always consider Boise home. I haven't actually lived there for many years but it always feels like home when I return for a visit. I wonder if it has something to do with the fact that since 2002 I have lived in Provo but it has always felt like a place to go to school. I never put down serious roots because I knew I would not be staying here long term; however, I never dreamed I would still be HERE in 2010 and beyond.
Anyway a couple of weekends ago we were lucky enough to go home for Ashley's (Chris's sister) farewell talk in church. It just happened that his other sister Michelle graduated the same weekend. We had a great time being with family and relaxing. Sadly, I did not take any pictures. I have not been very good lately at taking pictures.
Ashley will be serving the the Czech Republic mission. She goes into the MTC on June 23rd. She is going to be an AWESOME missionary. She has one of those personalites that people are drawn to. She is so full of love and a desire to serve others. We love her and will miss her dearly.
I am very blessed to have wonderful in-laws. You will never hear horror stories from me because mind are fantastic. I appreciate them very much.
One weekend Chris and I decided to take a quick trip up to Logan, sometimes you just need a break from good old Provo! We stayed at the Anniversary Inn and our room's theme was Pirates Cove. We had a nice relaxing weekend.

Chris's deepest desire of the evening was to be a pirate (his deep desire changes based on the movie or scenery, but he always pretends and asks me if he can be ____fill in the blank) ...so he decided to test his skills as a pirate. He is just too nice to be a pirate...look at that sweet face, how can you not love it :-)

On our trip we planned a short hike in Logan Canyon. The hike's name was Wind Cave. We trucked our way up the mountain. The total round trip was only 3 miles, but it sure felt like more to us. I guess we were out of shape.

On the way back down Chris decided to have some fun and dabble in danger! Luckily he is still around :-)

Motorcycle???

Chris's sister and dad were in town over conference weekend so we ventured up to Salt Lake to spend time with the fam. We enjoyed our time and Chris tried to convince me that he needs a motorcycle. His uncle Pat brought his new motorcycle over to Chris's grandparents and he let Chris take it for a spin. Of course I tried to convince Chris it was not a good idea since he did not have a helmet, but alas to no avail. Luckily, he just stayed in the neighborhood. As you can see he enjoyed himself.

After his thrilling spin, Chris begged me to hop on the back, which I did reluctantly. We too stayed in the neighborhood and we did not go very fast; but the entire time I kept thinking, I work on a neurology unit and I am on the back of a motorcycle without a helmet, I am insane! Needless to say I did not enjoy it as much of Chris due to my paranoia :-)
